Teachers throughout Massachusetts rely on the Boston Herald. Perhaps your own child’s classroom is expanding their horizons through the Boston Herald’s Newspaper In Education program. Every day we deliver classroom sets of newspapers and teaching materials to participating teachers – Free of Charge – thanks to donations from businesses and readers like you.
Here’s how to donate:
- By checking the $2.00 box on your home delivery bill, you are providing a classroom with 15 newspapers
- A $20.00 donation will provide a student with a year long subscription.
- Donate the cost of your vacation newspapers to a Herald In Education classroom.
Your contribution will help make 2008 a banner year. No contribution is too small! To make a donation by credit card please call Lori Santarpio at 617-619-6547 or Mary Ellen McSheffrey at 617-619-6556. Or you can mail in a check to:

- Lauren Walsh, Linden school “I feel confident that all Athol High School sophomores are becoming more informed citizens in our community because of the Boston Herald in Education program.” - Kathy Horrigan, Athol High school “With your help we have reached so many students who would never have a chance to read the paper.”
– Rob Bayley, Leominster High School. “Bringing the world to our students through the newspaper is so very important. It broadens their horizons from the safety of the classroom.” - Linda Swallow, Qualters Middle School “I just wanted to express my gratitude for your wonderful educational programs. I have used the materials both with my middle school and high school students, and I have found the materials to be well developed and extremely helpful. The Herald should receive a commendation for the work that it does in supporting educational initiatives. Keep up the good work!”
