2nd Annual Photojournalism CONTEST!
First Freedoms
And The Winners Are!
We are happy to announce the winners of the First Freedoms Photojournalism Contest! Middle school students from Springfield to Cape Cod to Boston submitted photographs showing their visual interpretation of The Five Freedoms of the First Amendment. Each participating MNIEC newspaper had their own local winners who then went to the state level judging and the results are creative and thoughtful.
Winners were chosen by three panel judges:
Art Illman – Professional Photographer, Community Newspapers Co.
Cheryl Showstack – Educational Services Manager, Brockton Enterprise
Kathy Powell – Newspaper In Education Coordinator, The Sun Chronicle
The winners, their families, and school officials have been invited to participate in an awards ceremony to be held at the State House on Bill of Rights Day, December 15.
Congratulations to all who participated!
